At aged 7 your child will have every chance of learning to snowboard to a competent standard within a week. You will find equipment and lessons fairly easy to source too.
Remember to encourage them and praise their efforts, especially at first when progress can be a little slower. But in no time at all they should be independently coming down the slopes and progress may well be rapid.
If they are nearer six or not very co-ordinated you may need to give them more attention and be more hands on at first – but very often kids will surprise you even if they are not normally especially sporty. Keep going, keep smiling and keep it fun!
Find some nice gentle beginner slopes at first, but once they have mastered coming down independently don’t be afraid to go further a field. Although do use your judgement on this.
